Rana Plaza

April 18, 2016

On April 24th, 2013, buildings in Bangladesh collapsed killing 1,134 factory workers and injuring more than 2,500 as well.

These people who make our clothes are exploited for corporate profit.  I also often exploit them in my ignorance and thriftiness when I get cheap deals.  I don't have all the answers, but I know that I want to move in the direction of justice and healing.  Which means I will call out corporations who exploit their workers and I will keep looking for just and fair businesses to buy from.

What is one practical step toward justice you can make in how you buy clothes?

Prayer:
God of mercy.  We remember the suffering of those who have been exploited.  Forgive us for our complicit exploitation with corporations.  Help us to have the courage to find more loving ways to shop.
